Hometown Christmas Parade – 2016

The parade started 40 years ago as a dream of the Spaar family.  This tradition is still carried today and continually for the past 15 years with the family.  Over the years the event has been partnered with others in the community.

The day includes a parade down Main St. (Rte 29) through the boroughs of Red Hill, Pennsburg and East Greenville. The parade begins at 1:00 pm and includes NO motorized vehicles. There are many beautiful horses, llamas, sled dogs, etc. And of course, Santa, who ends the parade then hosts individual visits with children at Santa Land at St. Mark’s Church, 81 Main St., Pennsburg. Santa Land contains many activities itself for children. The Upper Perk Community Life Center, 104 Main St, East Greenville, will host a craft bazaar with an amazing array of unique items for holiday gift-giving. And many local merchants will also have something special happening in their locations that day.

If you are interested in entering the parade and coming alongside the Spaar family and Love Upper Perk please contact the Spaars at hometownxmas@hotmail.com.  No motorized vehicles are permitted in the parade except the police cruiser that leads and the manure truck at the end!

This parade does not happen without the support of local businesses and community members.  Please consider sponsoring this 40 year family and community tradition.  Send your donations directly to:
